USB Bootable

Many people find that having a bootable USB is crucial these days.  In order to make a USB bootable, it is only necessary to follow some simple, basic steps.  With a bootable USB, users can install an entire operating system.  This not only allows users to complete installation efficiently, but also makes the process of installing and saving information go faster.

The way to make a USB bootable is not difficult.  It is only necessary to follow some simple steps.  On a Windows computer, just insert the USB.  It is probably necessary to use one that has 4 gigabytes of space or more.  First, users will want to back up all of the data on the USB, if there is any.  This is because the USB will need to be formatted, which will wipe out all of the information on it at the time.

Once the information is backed up, open a command prompt.  This can be found by going to the Start menu and opening the search menu.  There, hold Control, Shift and Enter together.  This should open a command prompt.  In the prompt, enter DISKPART, LIST DISK and hit Enter after each.

D:CD BOOT indicates the drive to be booted from.  D means the DVD drive.  Windows DVD contents will need to be copied onto the USB.  This will result in a bootable USB.  Once this is done, the USB can be used in any computer that has a USB boot feature.  Some modern computers do lack this feature, and it will not work with Windows XP.
